| Psalms 11:3 "If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" |
Foundation is very important, especially in Bible times.
Foundation or wall is considered as power, authority, and a secure city. A city that has a foundation or walls is a city that cannot easily be entered by enemies.
Foundation is also set in the cities as boundaries.
That's why in Bible times we can read that all cities have their foundation or walls. It is the most priority by the cities to be set.
If the foundation is very important in bible times, did you know that setting your foundation or wall spiritually is very important too?
Psalms 11:3 (KJV) "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"
In the verse above, the word DESTROYED means
1. To pull down or in
2. Destroy
3. Pluck
The given above meaning of DESTROYED is states that if your spiritual foundation or wall pull-down, destroy, and pluck, these things might happen to you:
1. Your enemy will be free to in and out to your premises to get what the Lord has given you.
2. You don't have the power to fight against your enemy.
3. You don't have any authority on your premises, but the enemy has.
4. You'll never be secure on your own because the enemy will give you everything for you to feel and to have an unsafe place.
It is very difficult for us as Christians to have a destroyed foundation and wall because we don't have control over our premises.
Many Christians today are in that situation. They think their wall or foundation is still strongly build-up but it was already broken.
And the enemies are in control of their lives.
WHY AND HOW OUR FOUNDATION CAN BE DESTROYED?
REMEMBER having a strong build-up foundation is always depends on us, and its destruction is purely our choice.
It is not because of the enemy! Yes! You read it right, it is not how strong the enemy is but how we fight against the strong enemy.
There is a sad truth in here; many Christians today are not fighting against the enemy. But rather they go with the flow of the situation (come what may lose or win), or they think that being a Christian is enough to fight the enemy because they already think that God will fight and will do the fight for them.
Yes and no answer for this. Why? Because, Yes the Lord will fight for His believers. But, NO that He will let His believers doing nothing for their salvation and battles.
Go back to the question, why and how our foundation can be destroyed?
1. We are not strong enough to defend our foundation.
Why? Because of first; a lack of knowledge that we need to build a foundation. Second; because of a lack of knowledge about building a foundation, we don't know how to be strong to protect our foundation.
2. Building a foundation or wall is just enough for us, but working the foundation to be strong is idle for us.
HOW TO MAINTAIN A STRONG FOUNDATION
1 John 2:12-14
[12] I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. [13] I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. [14] I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
The verses above are the reasons why the children, young men, and fathers are strong and overcome the evil one, and because of these their spiritual foundation strongly build. It is because:
1. Their sins were forgiven.
2. They know God from the beginning.
3. The word of God abideth in them. (I will not translate the word abideth in abiding, because words with TH in King James Version of the Bible means continuance).
Are the three reasons is in you? If the answer is no, you should start building your foundation today with the three reasons above.
Brethren,
A spiritual foundation is very needed in these last days.
We already know how the days are wicked. The devil attacks Christians today and he never wasting his hours just to watch your foundation or walls destroyed, pull down in or out, and plunk but he is trying his very best to destroy, pull down in or out, and plunk it in the sense that you cannot easily rebuild it.
Always remember your spiritual foundation is the boundaries that will set you to not sins against God.
Your spiritual foundation or wall is your security that your spiritual dress won't be tidy because of the things of the world.
Your spiritual foundation or wall is showing your power and authority against the devil, if it seems your foundation or wall is huge and build strongly the devil won't harm you.
Do your very best to build your foundation or wall strongly in these last days.
Letter for my brethren
I pray all of us to have a spiritual foundation that will set our boundaries, authority, power, and security in these last days. May the Holy Spirit of God move in us as He continues reminding us what we need to do these days.
