TIME IS GOLD
Do you believe that the time we have is like gold? As the familiar motto says, “Time is gold.” This reminds us that time is precious, time is important, and time should never be wasted.
Every day, we are given 24 hours of life. You may say that you spend your time wisely—that you use it for good deeds, work, and productive activities.
But let us reflect on what the Word of God says:
Ecclesiastes 1:2–3
“Vanity of vanities,” saith the Preacher, “vanity of vanities; all is vanity.”
“What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun?”
King Solomon, the wisest king of Israel, saw that much of what people do under the sun is vanity. He realized that many works we consider wise, productive, and valuable may still be empty in God’s eyes.
Not everything we do under the sun is worthy—indeed, much of the time we spend is vanity.
So let us ask ourselves:
How are we using our time today?
Are we spending it in ways that are truly wise, productive, and worthy before God?
Honestly speaking, much of our time is spent on vanity, even when it brings us earthly gain. As I’ve shared in my other blog, the time we are living in these last days is borrowed time.
Yes, our time is borrowed time. God Himself has entrusted us with the days we live. When we borrow something from someone, what do we usually do? We don’t destroy it, neglect it, or treat it carelessly. Instead, we preserve it, value it, and take good care of it—because we don’t want to dishonor the one who trusted us.
As Christians, we should think the same way. We must not bring disgrace to the name of God. Yet when we misuse, neglect, or disregard the time God has entrusted to us, we bring dishonor to His name.
Brethren,
If the wisest king saw that the works of men under the sun are vanity, then we too must examine our own works. Ask yourself: "Do the things I do draw me closer to God? Do they lead me toward salvation?"
A work that is not vanity before God is a work that brings us closer to Him—such as reading the Bible, praying, fasting, soul-winning, and faithfully attending church. These are basic yet powerful works of a Christian life.
If you are doing these things, continue —because you are not wasting your time. You are investing it in something productive, worthy, and pleasing in the sight of God.
In these days, we must be deeply concerned about our salvation and where we will go after death. Why? Because eternity begins when life on earth ends.
Eternity has a beginning, but it has no end.
Where you will spend eternity depends on what you do here on earth.
King Solomon used his time wisely, productively, and worthily. Though he had everything a king could desire, he separated himself from the world and sought God. We too can do the same if we accept the truth that much of what we do under the sun is vanity.
Choose to bring glory to the throne of God by using your time wisely, productively, and worthily before Him.
As you read this, do not allow your time to be wasted on vanity before God.
Time is gold—use it for His glory.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Letter for my Brethren,
I pray to God that your heart is filled with longing and thirst for God. As you become closer to God may you always know the will of God in your life.
The love of the Lord filled your heart.
I plead the blood of Jesus to cover you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
