| IDENTITY IN CHRIST |
ROMANS 1:26-27
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections.."
I can no longer stay silent.
With everything I see on different platforms regarding LGBTQ+ matters,. my heart has been deeply burdened. I do not write this to attack anyone. I do not white this to insult or condemn. I write this because I believe truth must be spoken -- and spoken in love.
Whether you will appreciate this blog or not, I entrust it to the Lord. And if these words stir discomfort, I pray that it will not be my voice you hear, but the wisdom and conviction of the Holy Spirit.
May God Himself speak.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
In the Philippines, where I currently live, this issue was once widely resisted. But over time, as culture normalized it - through media, influencers, celebrities, and social media platforms - was once questioned is now widely accepted.
Statements like:
"We're not hurting anyone."
"As long as we're happy."
have become common defenses.
But the question is not what culture approves.
The question is: WHAT DOES GOD APPROVE?
WHAT DOES SCRIPTURE SAY?
Romans 1:26-27
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Speaks clearly about people turning away from God's design. It describes a shift - a replacement of what was natural according to God's created order.
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
From the very beginning, Scripture tells us that God created two: male and female. Adam and Eve. Man and woman.
This was not an accident.
It was intentional.
It was designed.
God does not make mistakes in creation.
WHY DOES THIS SEEM NORMAL TODAY?
1. BECAUSE MANY ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH GOD'S TRUTH
We live in a time where Christian communities are everywhere. Churches are visible. Platforms are available. The word of God is accessible.
Yet accessibility does not equal obedience.
Many profess faith, but not all align their lives with God's will. Sometimes we adjust Scripture to fit culture - instead of allowing Scripture to transform culture.
Truth has not changed.
But our tolerance for confronting truth has.
2. BECAUSE LOVE FOR GOD IS BEING REDEFINED.
Jesus said, "If you love Me, Keep My commandments." John 14:15
Love for God is not emotional expression alone. It is obedience.
This is not about hatred toward a group of people. It is about devotion to God's design.
But let me say this clearly: God hates sin - but He loves people.
And we must not forget that.
If we speak truth without love, we misrepresent Christ.
If we claim love without truth, we misinterpret His as well.
BOTH ARE NECESSARY.
3. BECAUSE HUMANITY HAS FREE WILL
God did not create robots. He gave us free will.
We can choose Him - or reject Him.
We can follow His design - or redefine it.
Romans 1 says that when people continually reject God, He allows them to follow their desires. Not because He delights in their destruction, but because love does not force obedience.
God does not desire anyone to perish. But He also will not override our choices, but it doesn't mean the Lord is not concern with you.
A NECESSARY REMINDER
Before we point fingers remember this:
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned."
This is not a message of superiority.
This is not "us versus them."
All of us need saving.
All of us need grace.
All of us need Jesus.
I believe God created us male and female with intentional design. Any identity or practice that contradicts His design must be surrendered to Him. This is not about hatred. This is about returning to the Creator who knows us best.
NO SIN IS BEYOND REDEMPTION, AND NO PERSON IS BEYOND GOD'S TRANSFORMING GRACE.
AN OPEN LETTER
To those who are identify as LGBTQ+,
You are beyond God's reach. You are not beyond His love. You are not beyond His power to transform.
I believe God created us intentionally - male and female - and that His design is not a mistake. I believe that when we redefine ourselves apart from Him, we stop outside of His will. That includes sexual identity, just as it include pride, greed, and every other area where humanity resists God.
But this is not a message of hate. It is a message of invitation.
We have free will. We all choose daily whether we will surrender to God or define truth for ourselves.
If you have been living apart from His design, the invitation is the same for you as it is for me: REPENT, TURN BACK. ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR.
Transformation is not something we force. It is something God does in a surrendered heart.
Heaven is open and entered by those who are washed, forgiven, and made new in Christ.
FINAL REFLECTION - SELAH
Pause for a moment.
Selah.
Before we argue online, before we react emotionally, before we speak loudly -
The world does not just need correct opinions.
IT NEEDS A SAVIOR.
AND HIS NAME IS JESUS.
God does not make mistakes in creation.
If you were created male or female, that is not an accident.
There is divine intention in your identity.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Letter for my Brethren
Heavenly Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We come before You as we are - imperfect, seeking, and in need of Your grace.
Lord, draw every heart closer to You. For my brothers and sisters in Christ, strengthen our faith and help us walk in truth with love and humility. For those who identify as LGBTQ+. may Your love meet them deeply and personally. Reveal Your heart, Your will, and Your saving grace through Jesus Christ.
Teach us all to surrender fully to You, to repent where we must, and to trust that Your plans are good. Lead us not by confusion, but by truth. Not by fear, but by Your perfect love.
We place every identity, every struggle, and every question at the foot of the Cross.
Be Lord over all of us.
In the name of Jesus' Christ,
Amen.
