Definition of Selah in the Bible

Have a quiet time with the Lord.

Before when I was a new believer of God, a follower of Christ, I read the Bible, but I never give myself a chance to know more what is the meaning of some words in the Bible.

I just knew that they were written because God wants to write those words in the Bible, but the real meaning of why God wrote those is I DON’T KNOW.

There is a word in the Bible that get me shocked when I knew the meaning and the purpose of God why He let that word be written.

What is that word? It is the word “SELAH”.

We are familiar with this word, especially when we read the Book of Psalm, but we do know what this word means?

WHAT IS SELAH?

Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.[13] Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. All the mentioned verses above have the same meaning in the Hebrew word. Except for,

• One (1) in the Book of 2 King 14:7 – the word Selah here is a name which means Rock.

This verse is not our primary concern today, but the verses that are written in the Book of Habakkuk and the Book of Psalms. Another meaning of Selah:

3. Selah also means STOP, QUIET, SILENCE.

We need a SELAH MOMENT a time, not for someone. Not with your friends, love ones. But a pause, quiet, and silent MOMENT with God.

We are living in a rapid time (mabilis na takbo ng oras), we often used the time we have and become unaware that day passes by, but we don’t have much time with our God.

Believe it or not, as we live in rapid and unawareness of our time, we spend most out of it for ourselves. God is a jealous God, He wants our time will be valuable in these last days! GOD WANTS OUR SELAH MOMENT.

A stop, pause, a quiet and silent hour of our time with Him.

A quiet time with the Lord is not a boring hour of our lives, but it is the most interesting hour of our lives.

WHY DOES GOD NEED OUR SELAH MOMENT?

GOD WANTS OUR SELAH MOMENT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU.

- God is talking to you, my beloved brethren! We can not hear Him unless we stop what we are doing unless we don't give our quiet, silent moment with Him.

God is not rude to intervene anytime He wants, even He waits too long for us to give Him time, He will wait. But how long He will wait for us? how long we will be stingy to God that even our time, we cannot give Him?

TRUTH: MAKING OURSELVES BUSY IN OUR DAILY DOINGS WILL NOT HELP US TO HEAR GOD’S WORD.

- GOD HATES TALKATIVE NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE PRONE TO SIN. Proverbs 10:19 KJV "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise." But literally, we cannot hear anyone if we keep on talking, usually, we need to keep quiet, for us to understand what they are saying.

- Spiritually speaking, God is talking to us and keeps talking to us. Can you hear Him? Beloved brethren, the truth is there are no days God is NOT talking to you. He always has time for you. How about you, do you spend your time, your precious time even a minute with God?

KATOTOHANAN: Hindi lilipas ang araw na hindi makikipag-usap saiyo ang Dios.

URGENT CALLING: GOD WANTS YOUR SELAH MOMENT NOW!

- Yes, God is longing for every one of us. He always wanted to be part of our daily lives.

BE WILLING TO ACCEPT GOD TO BE PART OF YOUR TIME BRETHREN.

Much time you spend with God is not a waste of time.

Beloved Brethren our time are precious, so precious let’s spend it wisely! Spend your day with God by reading this blog. Let’s enjoy our SELAH MOMENT WITH GOD EVERY DAY!

I am here to testify that having a Selah Moment with God is a time of victory, a time that God will show Himself to you, a time that He will show His mighty works on you.

A Selah Moment with God is a time that you'll never regret having and doing it. I'm doing it, and I tell you I never regret doing it before God, because even I, I have so many testimonies to share with, because the God I spent time with, is God that can be found by His believers, and He always has blessing stored for us.

It's time for you to have your own Selah Moment with God, He is waiting for you.

TO GOD ALL THE GLORY

Pray with all your heart

Letter for my Brethren,

I pray that in these last days, we have a selah moment with God together. Hereby we can prepare ourselves in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we continue having a Selah Moment with our God, may we feel His presence and receive everything that we need in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
