LUKE 14:7 - 11 "BE HUMBLE"

Be Humble

LUKE 14:7 - 11
[7] And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
[8] When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
[9] And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
[10] But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
[11] For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

This is a Parable of Jesus Christ. Like what I’ve said in my 5th article, "BE FAITHFUL AND WISE STEWARD" the parable is not a true story but it has a spiritual lesson that we can learn from it.

MY OWN PERCEPTION OF HUMBLENESS

HUMBLENESS is essential to the character that we must have. This is a character that can be shown in how we act, and speak. It cannot be hidden. It is naturally seen by anyone around us.

Being humble is required not only for a person who has everything but humbleness is required for every one of us, with or without anything.

This Parable is known as the LOWEST SEAT AT THE FEAST.

A parable was spoken by Jesus to all who were invited to a wedding. In Orientals (people who lived of East Asian descent), and Jews they have sitting arrangements when they have an occasion like this. In middle seats, it was reserved for a higher class person, while the seats around the middle seats were for a lower class person.

All who are invited to that said occasion chose to sit in the middle seats. Why? They think that they deserve to sit in the higher class.

So, Jesus taught a golden rule, Luke 14:11 "For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

TIME TO CHOOSE

If we were invited on that occasion, where we choose to sit, in the middle or around the middle seats?

Nowadays, people choose not to be humble, why?
a. Because they don’t want people to look at them as if they are devoid.
b. Because they want people's acceptance and applause.
c. Because they are proud of what they are and what they have now.

Do you have the same reasons as given above? IF YES, You are in a very dangerous situation!

Why? Proverbs 16:18 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

DESTRUCTION will happen to those who are proud! There’s no good thing to happen to those who are proud, whether they like it or not they will become abased.

Why? Because God has no pleasure to those who are proud.

Matthew 23:12  And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

To those who are humble, they will be exalted. God will exalt them! Anything they do will be recognized and will be a blessing to anyone who sees it.

Brethren,

Being humble is a choice.

If you want to be exalted by God Himself, be humble! Whatever you’ve achieved, who you are now, and what you have now, LEARN TO STAY HUMBLE.

Even people around you are not, even what people think about you, choose to STAY HUMBLE

Remember God will exalt you!

If you are working, God can promote you. If you are studying, God can exalt you with your teachers who can recognize your works.

JUST STAY HUMBLE AS GOD TAUGHT US TO BE.

James 4:6
"But He giveth more grace.
wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud,
but giveth grace unto humble."

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Pray with all your heart

Letter to my Brethren

I pray that your heart be filled with humbleness that could help you to be more like our Lord Jesus Christ.

I also pray that no matter what the Lord entrusts you in His ministry may you always find yourself humbling before the Lord that this humbleness will lead you to teach everyone in the ministry.

I plead the blood of Jesus to cover you in all harm, in Jesus' name, Amen.
