PSALMS 1:1-6

Psalms 1:1-6

“Comparing the blessed and the UNGODLY man”

This chapter talks about A blessed and ungodly man.

Blessed here means happiest. This is not just happy but living the more happiest.

How a man became a real blessed or more happiest?

Psalm 1:1 ”Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”

1. When he walked not in the counsel of ungodly
2. When he standeth not in the way of sinners
3. When sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

All the above mention, when we did flee from them, we will be considered by God blessed, most happiest of all.

Why? What this man delight?

Psalm 1:2 ”But his delight is in the law of the Lord; in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

1. Law of the Lord
2. To meditate the word of God day and night

What will happen to this blessed man if the Lord is his delight?

Psalm 1:3 ”And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

1. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water
2. He shall bringeth fruit in seasons
3. His leaf will not be wither.
4. Whatever he doeth shall prosper.

- he shall be a blessing to everyone that is around him.

UNGODLY MAN

WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE?

Psalm 1:4 ”The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.”

1. He is like chaff which driveth away - He is easy to compromise in this world. He has no affirmation of what he believes in.

What will happen to him?

Psalm 1:5 ”Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”

1. He shall not stand in the judgment.
- it is a divine ceremony that is only held for believers of God.
2. Sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Brethren,
If we want to be blessed, do what the Lord wants us to do.

It is not like we will reject the ungodly, but what they do which are not pleasing to God is the one we must renounce.

We must deny ourselves, and live what the blessed man lives.

Psalm 1:6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
