GREAT COMMANDMENT
Last time we talked about the greatest commandment of God that we can read at MARK 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
LOVING THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEART; which is the first part; and the second part of this article is LOVING THE LORD WITH ALL OUR SOUL.
We don’t have any excuses to make for not loving the Lord with all our hearts and soul, because we have lots of reasons why we should love the Lord with all our hearts and soul.
Now, let see what the Lord wants of all men.
LOVING THE LORD WITH ALL OUR MIND
Men were created by God with a mind, do you thank God because you have a mind that can think, decide and calculate to understand all that is about life.
We actually used our minds in everyday living to think, decide and calculate.
We need also to use our minds to love God. In loving God, we actually think, decide and calculate.
In what ways do we love God using our minds?
1. We used our mind in loving God, by thinking, deciding, and calculating if we are serving Him the way He wants.
2. We used our mind in loving God, by thinking, deciding, and calculating if we still do the right thing for our God.
3. We used our mind in loving God, by thinking, deciding, and calculating, if we still love Him the way He wants to be loved.
Truth: BUT BEFORE WE DO THESE, OUR MIND SHOULD BE FILLED BY THE LOVE OF GOD.
How our minds be filled by the love of God?
1. If we let our mind be filled by the love of God through Holy Spirit.
2. If we let our mind think Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
3. If we let our mind think in His words.
IF WE DO THESE OUR MIND WILL BE AT PEACE AND WILL HAVE A SOUND MIND
These days we badly need peace. The peace that comes only to the God we served.
We can’t deny what’s happening to the world today brings us to despair.
Peace for many people is gone. It is not because of covid19 that we’ve experienced, but if we look deeply it is because of loss of love to God.
People today have no time to think for the Lord, how powerful the Lord was, and they never think about the word of God. Accept that these were the greatest reasons why people are desperate.
WE NEED TO LOVE THE LORD WITH OUR ENTIRE MINDS.
If you want to have peace, and a sound mind the answer is to love God with your entire mind.
Brethren,
Our mind is a battleground; we cannot win any battle if our mind has no peace that comes to our God.
So peace comes if we start to love God with our entire minds.
What is in your mind? If it is full of unnecessary thoughts trash it and fill it with thoughts of God, and His words.
