Proverbs 17:3 - the Lord trieth the hearts

Proverbs 17:3

When we bought something there is always a caution saying "Do not accept if seal is broken", did you saw this caution for any product that has its seal?

Testing a product to any appliance store is a requirement, right? we cannot buy any product in that store without trying those, because we are looking for a:
1. A product that passes to our standard.
2. A product that works on what we expected.
3. A product that fits our character or even in what we need.

So, any company that sells appliances has what they called a "quality controller" to test first the appliances, and the quality of their products.

Even, when someone is courting us, (especially girls out there), we don't immediately say "I love you too" without trying or testing the guy who is courting us. Why? Because we want to prove to ourselves that what the guy is doing and saying towards us is genuine or not.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING

Believe it or not even in spiritual, God was trying us if what we feel about Him is genuine or not. Even with every word that comes out in our mouth God is trying those. He is not just hearing us and accept those words but He immediately tries us.

Let’s see how God tries us.

Proverbs 17:3

"The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts."

THE LORD TRIETH THE HEART

The word trieth in the said verse above means: to investigate, to examine, to prove, to make trial.

TRUTH: The Lord makes investigating, examining, proving, testing our hearts.

Yes! What you have read is true! The Lord our God trieth the heart of people nowadays.

Each of every one of us is not exempted, who you are, whatever you are, professional or not, popular or not, rich or poor.  The Lord our God trieth your heart.

The Lord tries our heart not just once, twice, or trice, or even when we are in the situation(s) that we never wanted to be in and we never know what to do. Believe it or not the Lord trieth our hearts every day.

Look at this truth: In the Bible, when we read the word which has “th” at the end of the root word it means it is continuance.

CONTINUALLY THE LORD TRIETH THE HEART OF THE PEOPLE. The Lord trieth our hearts like what the silver or gold was tried by a smelter.

LET THE LORD TRY YOUR HEART

WHY THE LORD TRIETH OUR HEARTS?

Firstly: TO KNOW WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS.

Deuteronomy 8:2 KJV And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

The Lord wants to know what is in our hearts. You might ask yourselves “the Lord is Omniscient, He knows everything, even our hearts”. Yes. God knows everything, but even though He knows it, God wants to investigate, examine, prove, and try our hearts and to know what is in there.

WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART  WILL ALWAYS SHOW IN YOUR ACTIONS.

Secondly: TO PROVE OUR LOVE TO THE LORD.

Deuteronomy 13:3 KJV Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Maybe we might say “WE LOVE YOU, LORD”, but it is different in what we act and react in a situation or circumstances we were in.

LOVING GOD IS ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY SACRIFICE THAT WILL BE SEEN IN OUR ACTIONS EVERY DAY.

3.     ThirdlyTO KNOW IF WE WALK WITH HIM.

Exodus 16:4 KJV[4] Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

WALKING WITH GOD IS SHOWING OUR TRUST IN HIM.

The Lord wants us to investigate, to examine, to prove, to try us every day if we will STILL walk in His law or commandments or not. Every day the Lord wants us to walk with Him.

WALKING WITH HIM IS SAYING THAT WE SHOULD NOT be COMPROMISED IN this WORLD.

Brethren,

Every investigation, examination, proving and testing has results.  While the Lord trieth you, always remember the three reasons why the Lord trieth you, and as you remember these three things,  make up a good, acceptable, and passing results before God.

It is not for the benefits of the Lord, but it is always for the benefits of you.

Don't reject the test, examination, proving that God was doing to all His believers in these last days. I am sure, if we let God try us, we will be like gold without blemish. A believer that is approved to enter heaven.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Pray with all your heart

Letter to my Brethren,

I pray that as the Lord trieth your heart, may you be like a refined gold for the glory of God.
Be always ready to face every test that is set before us.

As we continue in the faith, always look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

I plead the blood of Jesus to cover you all in Jesus' name.
