New Year Resolution

The year 2020 is ended but the memories remain. And the year 2021 is here hitting and making memory upon us.

When the year ends, what comes to your mind? Many are thinking about what will they do next year, what will be their plan, and what will be on their bucket list.

But when the new year comes, the new year starts there is one question that remains and it is "WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR RESOLUTION?"

Okay, before you answer the question above, let us see first the meaning of the resolution.

In Dictionary resolution means;
(a) A firm decision to do or not to do something. [Panukala (Tagalog), a deal or a proposal]
(b) The quality of being determined or resolute. [Resulosyon (Tagalog)]; And
(c) The action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.[Pagbabago (Tagalog)].

Resolution is something you have to do or you had needed to be changed or arranged particularly in your life which is you have DONE but it didn't work out the way you planned it.

It would be:
A. Your life that seems miserable in the past year.
B. Your plan was ruined or didn't work, and you need another plan.
C. Planning to have a new look at you.

What is your new year resolution or resolutions?

Remember in my previews blog post "BE STILL", I have a plan or plans that could change my life in a miserable or for the better.

But, you know the best thing that we should do, especially for YOU who have a plan before and didn't work well as you expected and now you want the best resolution for that.

You need to remember these things:
1. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith and the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

The Lord has His plan for you from the beginning. His plan never fails, never broken, not for your destruction nor for you to lose your hope.

We sometimes find ourselves frustrated when we want to do something or we want to achieve something and never happen, right?

We are ended up asking God why our plan never happen. The answer maybe you were waiting for a long time is this, YOUR PLAN OR PLANS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE PLAN OF GOD.

We have plans that seem good, perfect, and for the betterment of all of them who is with us, but behind all of what we think and that we planned are for the destruction of you and the people around you.

Honestly, all of us are blind to see the truth that we are blinded by the thoughts of to reached our goals and yet we forget the plan of God for us.

The plan of God to you is that plan that will not let you fall away from God. What do I mean by this?

For example, you have a plan and because you want to achieve that plan, you didn't attend church (Hebrews 10:25) because of work, you didn't give your best tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10) because you save money.

I want to be clear myself here, I am not saying it is bad to have work or save money from the bank or anyway how you saved it, but because of these things, you fall away from God.

New year, new plan, and a new beginning.

Will you consider the plan of God?

2. Proverbs 16:3  "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."

This also one of the problems we have, we love to plan but to commit ALL our plans to God is what we forget all the time.

Maybe it because God does not belong to our plan. We just think about ourselves, wants, and desires.

Remember what I've said in my blog post The perception of God is different from our perception. What is in our mind never be in the mind of God.

Sometimes, we just think of what we want to be and what we want to have in the future but forgets to ask God if it is right for us.

The word COMMIT in Proverbs 16:3 means SURRENDER, TO GIVE ALL, TO PUT THE WHOLE TRUST TO GOD ALONE.

Now, the question is are we surrendering, giving all, and putting our whole trust in the Lord? Or are we standing on our own feet today and just let things happen to believe in our ability and strength?

Surrendering, giving all, and putting the whole trust in God is what the Lord waiting for from all of us. God can't do or move on us if we just surrendering, giving all, and putting our whole trust in ourselves and not in God.

We are the ones who block the Lord to do in our lives. We are the ones who push away what the Lord prepared for us. We are the ones who let go of the blessings that God in store for us.

Committing your plan to the Lord is telling to the Lord that you trust your life to Him. And the best thing is if you commit your plan to the Lord, you'll never be disappointed and broken. Why? Because God will establish you nor your plans!

New year, new plan, and a new beginning.

Will you consider committing your plans to the Lord?

3. John 15:4 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."

New year, new plan, a new beginning.

But, this verse is not new at all, right? This verse is one we forget when the new year comes.

We are living like there is no God like no one sees what we are doing, what we are thinking, and whatsoever plan we have in the coming year.

It is good to have the Lord at the beginning of the year.  Look at the verse above, it says, abide in "Me" - the Lord Jesus Christ is talking not only to all Christians (although he was talking to all disciples), but He is also reminding this to all men who lived and living right now.

The word ABIDING in this verse means TO STAY and TO REMAIN. It is not just to stay and remain but it has the word CONTINUE

CONTINUE TO STAY AND TO REMAIN  with the Lord, not only for a day in a year but the whole year.

Having said that, it is sad to admit that we people forget to continue to stay and to remain with the Lord. Especially when we are in good times and feeling that we are in a higher position, that we achieve everything we want and desire.

To continue staying and remaining to the Lord is not only about experiencing difficulties in life.

Remember when pandemic comes, the Covid19, people are posting on social media about remembering the Lord's goodness, faithfulness, and reminding people to call upon His name? But, it has a beginning and an end. Trending yesterday, but today isn't. Is that showing that we continue staying and remaining to the Lord? NAH!

God wants us to continue to stay and remain in Him for us to be fruitful.

Fruitful in everything.

Yes, we can't do anything without the Lord Jesus Christ therefore we can't bear fruit which we called barren, and being barren is a curse!

Do want to be fruitful this year?
Fruitful at your work? - considered a higher salary increase, recognized by your boss and another employee, your company will also gain good things because of you.
Fruitful financially? - you will not experience financial difficulties and you'll never be broke.
✓ Fruitful spiritually - you'll never experience emptiness, dryness, sadness, broken and such things.

Why? Because the Lord will continue to stay and remains in you as you stay and remains in Him.

Will you consider the invitation to the Lord this year? Abiding in Him?

Brethren
I hope I am not too late to remind you of these things. If you start this year and you forget one of the three things that I've mentioned above, it is not bad to restart again. Make a new year resolution with the Lord, and I believe, all your resolution will end better than in the last past years.

Why? Because you did start this year with the Lord. Therefore, indeed remember: You're not making memories alone this year but you make memories with the Lord.

New year. New plan. New beginning
Let's have good memories this year with the Lord.

Will you consider this?

TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

Letter for my Brethren
I pray this year will be a blessing and you receive a full of surprises from God.  Whatever your heart desires according to riches and glory of Christ Jesus you possessed it, in Jesus' name. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ to cover you, in Jesus' name, Amen.
