LEARN TO
THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK part 2
In my preview article "THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK" we talked about how powerful the tongue is. It is a small part of our body but it can drag us into hell. When we speak, in front of us are life and death and we had to choose between them.
It also
kills our own selves and others by the words we speak.
REMINDER: THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK
Did you
hear yourself talking today? What words did proceeds out of your mouth?
Our Lord
Jesus Christ has a warning regarding these. In Matthew 15:11 “Not
that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh
out of the mouth, this defileth a man.”
The words
of Jesus here are very clear, to them who is hearing this saying, and to us who
read this. It is not the food we ate that defiled us but it is the word that
proceeding out of our mouth.
The
word defileth in Matthew 15:11 means pollute and unclean.
It is not
the food we eat can defile us, can pollute us, even make our body unclean, but
it is the words that proceed out of our mouth.
Literally, we don’t like bad breath person, but what words comes out in your mouth makes your bad breath.
Do you say rude, profanity words? These can and make you defiled, polluted, and unclean. It will be the reason why we cannot enter heaven if we continue saying those. Why? No one in heaven is talking rude and profane there.
All are
in heaven are holy, for the LORD ARE HOLY. He is against in those words. That’s
why we can read Matthew 15:11 as a WARNING for every one of us.
WARNING:
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it
shall eat the fruit thereof.”
1. What you
speak is the fruit of your heart.
2. What you
speak tells you what kind of person you are.
3. What you
speak tells you what kind of heart you have.
4. What you
speak tells you where you should go, heaven or hell.
5. What you
speak tells you what kind of Christian you are.
Brethren,
Before we
speak, always be reminded that you are a Christian, and being a Christian we are not allowed to speak and talk any profane words. We must always consider the
name of Jesus that was sealed on us and we should not be put it on shame.
Our tongue
must use on sharing not in vanity words but for sharing the word of God which
is giving glory to the name of our Lord.
