Christians, stop saying "Oh my God!"

OMG! word is not what the Lord wants to hear in you.

There is a word that a Christian needs to stop to say. It is the common word that is usually said by Christian and non-Christians.

These words are we heard on the TV, Movies, friends, that they usually said when they are surprised, shocked, they are not in a good mood. What word is this? "OH MY GOD!"

The word "Oh my God" has a similar in other expressions like:
1. Oh my Gosh
2. Holy Gosh/Holy Golly
3. Oh God
4. Dear God
5. Oh Golly
6. Gosh Almighty
7. Oh Jesus
8. O.M.G
9. Holy Crap
10. Oh Good Lord and etc..

These are some examples of "Oh my God!" word that we may be aware of and not aware of by saying those words.

Again, I am concerned with many Christians today saying those words accidentally or not! Remember you cannot say to God that you were shocked, you were surprised, or even not in the good mood that the Lord will understand you and you will be forgiven.

Yes, we need to be forgiven by God when we say those words! ALL those words are not just words or expressions saying by many people today. Those words lead you to have sinned or committed sin against God.

"OH, MY GOD" and other words that similar to this will LEAD YOU TO COMMIT SIN AGAINST GOD.

In Exodus 20:7  "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."

The Bible is clear that God from the beginning is not favored on others who are mentioning His name in vain!

God is not allowing anyone to mention His name, not even His follower or Believer, even you are a Pastor or any position you have in the ministry.

GOD IS NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO MENTION HIS NAME IN VAIN.

WHY? I will give you TWO REASONS (2):

1.  Exodus 20:7  "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."

The Lord will count you GUILTLESS. The word GUILTLESS in this verse means CLEAN, EXTIRPATED, BLAMELESS, AND INNOCENT.

Let's change the adjective in this verse which is guiltless in the given meaning: "FOR THE LORD WILL NOT HOLD HIM CLEAN, EXTIRPATED, BLAMELESS, AND INNOCENT."

God will count us responsible enough to every word that comes to our mouth especially when the word that comes to our mouth is His name!.

SAYING THE NAME OF THE LORD IN VAIN IS A BIG DEAL TO GOD.

2. Exodus 20:5  "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

Saying the name of God in vain is like bowing down in sin. Remember what the verse above is telling us: visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

God will remember our sins from generation to generation.

WHAT WE SHOULD DO IF YOU COMMITTING SIN THROUGH SAYING "OH MY GOD!"?

1 John 1:9  "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We should REPENT on mentioning the name of God in vain. Asking forgiveness to God is the only way you can be cleansed.

By this God won't remember your sin and He will count you as clean, extirpated, blameless, and innocent.

Brethren
If you are still saying "Oh my God!" or any similar to this, STOP IT! For you only giving yourself to destruction. Do what God pleases nowadays, and saying His name ONLY when it is needed.

When it is needed? When the devil is attacking you and offered you to say the words that are forbidden to say.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY
